It may be a discouraging economy we’re experiencing currently, but not if you have been unhappy with your career thus far anyway.  Many people can spin unemployment into a very positive predicament by using it to shift careers into something better and more fulfilling then they’ve been doing. Did you know that the US Department of Labor says that over half of the jobs in the United States are computer based?   If you’re good with computers and computer programming and are interested in doing something fun with your life while you make a decent salary think about a game designer training and an eventual career.  Software engineers get paid well above the national weekly average for their time. The average video game designer salary is high.

New cell phones and hand held computer platforms have recently opened up a whole new world for those with appropriate game designer training, as the market for profitable apps is huge.  Not to mention, the programming platform is free and open to almost any game designer.

Game Designer Career Stability

Programmers may be interested to know the Department of Labor reports that over 77 percent of software engineers work for companies that employ 50 or more workers, suggesting that game designer training can lead to a very stable career compared to the common perceptions that programmers usually start their own businesses.
